Biographical Information[edit]

Jakob Lindkvist has played in the Elitserien and for the Swedish national team.

He hit .447/.559/.553 with 15 RBI in 14 games for the 2022 Karlskoga Bats at age 17. [1] As their regular catcher in '23, he batted .341/.441/.424 with 24 runs and 24 RBI in 24 games. He tied Joel Johnson for 9th in average, was 9th in OBP (between Max Hill and Per Sjörs), tied for 4th in RBI and tied for 8th in hits. [2] The next summer, the youngster produced at a .412/.495/.671 rate with 33 runs, 28 RBI and 15 steals (caught once) in 21 games, fielding .969. He was 5th in average (between Leo Quaglia and Linus Holmberg), tied Daniel Johnson for 5th in runs, was 9th in hits (35), tied for 4th in triples (3), led in dingers (4, one ahead of Samuel Steigert, Sam Börjes and Quaglia), was 6th in RBI, tied for 5th in total bases (57), trailed only Joel Johnson and Quaglia in OBP, was second in slugging (.054 behind Joel Johnson), was second to Joel Johnson in OPS (121 behind) and tied Steigert for 8th in steals. Coming to the US for college ball, he batted .196/.329/.232 as a freshman in 2025. That limited his time in the Elitserien, where he still hit 4 homers in 15 games, slashing .319/.431/.702. He tied Daniel Johnson for the dinger lead and trailed only Daniel Johnson in slugging. [4] He was a regular for Sweden in the 2025 European Championship, mainly playing first base. He hit 7th in their opener and grounded out against Spain's Pablo Guillén his first time up. His first hit was off Jeffrey Barto of Bronze Medal-winning Czechia. He was 2-for-15 with a walk, HBP and run overall, fielding .931. [5]
