Biographical Information

Issei Sato signed with the Kokutetsu Swallows in 1963, and he was 2-for-11 in 1964. He only played 3 games in 1965, and he was released. The Taiyo Whales signed him, but he only got 5 at-bats in 1967. Sato went 3-for-18 in 1968, and he had a 6-for-30 record in 44 games in 1970. He was 0-for-5 in 1971, and he was released again in 1972. Sato then joined the Taiheiyo Club Lions, but he only played 5 more games before he announced his retirement in 1974. He had 79 appearances in 90 career games, being used as a pinch-runner at times.
