Biographical Information[edit]
Ikuo Yanagawa signed with the Hankyu Braves in 1962, and he played 103 games with a .096/.143/.178 batting line in his first season; primarily a defensive sub in the outfield, he only had 77 plate appearances. He was 3-for-27 in 1964, and he went 4-for-29 in 1965. Yanagawa only got one at-bat in 1966, and he was released. The Hiroshima Carp signed him, and he announced his retirement after he went 0-for-6 in 1967.
Overall, Yanagawa hit .103/.135/.176 with 14 hits in 5 seasons in NPB.
