Biographical Information[edit]
Ikuo Fukushima pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Fukushima signed with the Toei Flyers in 1955, and he recorded a 2.84 ERA in 22 relief outings in his first season. He then joined the rotation in 1956, and he went 13-11 with a 1.62 ERA. However, he only got 8 appearances in 1957, and he pitched 6 games with a 3.86 ERA in 1958. Fukushima allowed 4 runs in 2 innings in 1959, and he announced his retirement after he had a 2.57 ERA in 5 games in 1960.
Overall, Fukushima was 14-14 with a 2.10 ERA, struck out 78 and pitched 226 2/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
