Biographical Information

Ichiro Masumoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Masumoto signed with the Tokyu Flyers in 1953, and he hit .197/.222/.279 in 42 games in his first season. He then had a .215/.242/.300 batting line in 1954, and he crushed 4 homers with a .228/.258/.328 batting line in 1955. Masumoto played 108 games with 10 steals and a .223/.274/.312 batting line in 1956, and he batted .226/.263/.289 in 115 appearances in 1957. His batting line fell to .185/.226/.270 in 1958, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Masumoto hit .216/.254/.301 with 326 hits and 12 homers in 6 seasons in NPB.
