Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroyasu Hayashi was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the 6th round of the 1989 NPB draft, and he was 3-for-13 in his first season. He crushed a homer in his first career at-bat against Yuji Inoue (the 27th NPB player to perform that feat), but he spent the next four seasons in minors. Hayashi then hit .268/.388/.312 for the Visalia Oaks in 1995, and he also played 51 games with a .238/.298/.369 batting line for the big club. However, he slumped to .188/.316/.188 in 1996, and he only played one more game for the top team before he announced his retirement in 1998.
