Biographical Information

Hiroshi Ogo signed with the Yomiuri Giants in 1962, and he was 4-for-13 in his first season. He only played one game in 1964, and he announced his retirement. Ogo then became the bullpen catcher of the Giants for 10 years, and he was believed the first full-time bullpen catcher in NPB history. He was the battery coach of the Giants from 1975 to 1976, and he became the minor league battery coach for the Yakult Swallows from 1977 to 1979. Ogo later coached in the Nippon Ham Fighters system from 1984 to 1995.
