Biographical Information

Hiromichi Fujiwara was a first-round pick of the Rakuten Golden Eagles in 2008 NPB draft after playing for NTT Nishi Nihon in the industrial leagues in Japan. He was 5-4 with a 4.04 ERA in 17 games (14 starts) as a rookie in 2009. He won a vote in the 2009 Pacific League Rookie of the Year voting. However, he was 1-3 with a 11.93 ERA in 2010, and he only pitched one more game for the top team before he announced his retirement in 2013. He later became a batting practice pitcher for Rakuten from 2014 to 2019.

Overall, Fujiwara was 6-8 with a 5.22 ERA, struck out 58 and pitched 101 2/3 innings in 3 seasons in NPB.
