Biographical Information[edit]
Hirofumi Komae played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Komae signed with the Goldstar in 1946, and he went 8-for-20 in his first season. He hit .223/.252/.306 with 9 triples in 1947, and he was 3rd in triples in the Japanese Professional Baseball League (tied with Hiroyoshi Tsukamoto, Takenori Yamakawa, Shosei Go and Eikichi Nagamochi). Komae then went to the Hankyu Braves, and he recorded a .218/.290/.277 batting line in 75 games in 1948. He then batted .212/.264/.376 in 1949, and he jumped to the Hiroshima Carp when the JPBL split into two leagues. Komae was 13-for-67 in 1950, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Komae hit .215/.256/.296 with 165 hits and 4 homers in 5 seasons in NPB.
