Biographical Information

Hidetaka Horiba signed with the Hiroshima Carp in 1982, and he hit .161/.257/.323 in 27 games in 1983. He went 7-for-30 in 1984, and he had a 4-for-21 record in 1985. Horiba was released in 1986, and he signed with the Taiyo Whales. He played 45 games with a .266/.344/.394 batting line in 1987, then he hit .295/.367/.386 in 1988. However, Horiba only got 6 at-bats in 1989, and he was released again. The Yomiuri Giants picked him up, but he was placed in the minors for the entire 1990 season and he announced his retirement. He later became a councillor of Nagano Prefecture from 2011 to 2019.

Overall, Horiba hit .245/.342/.365 with 59 hits in 6 seasons in NPB.
