Biographical Information[edit]
Hideo Nakamura was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 2nd round of the 1986 NPB draft, and he only got 3 at-bats for the big club combined in his first six seasons. He also hit .137/.236/.148 in 76 games for the San Jose Bees in 1987, fielding .885; he was their most-used third baseman and backed up Dave Rolland at 2B. The Lions traded him with Ryoji Moriyama to the Yokohama BayStars for Yoshiyuki Shimizu in 1992, and he was 4-for-13 in 1993. He had a 2-for-17 record in 1994, but he didn't reach the big club in 1995 and he announced his retirement.
