Biographical Information[edit]
Hideaki Watanabe was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the 3rd round of the 1988 NPB draft, and he spent his first two seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues. He hit .200/.294/.213 in 33 games in 1991, but he only got 20 more at-bats before he announced his retirement in 1996. He became an assistant coach of Nihon University in 2021.
Overall, Watanabe hit .168/.248/.189 with 16 hits in 6 seasons in NPB.
