Biographical Information

Haruki Mihira played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.

Mihira signed with the Daimai Orions in 1958, and he went 5-7 with a 2.38 ERA in his first season. He was 7-2 with a 1.93 ERA in 1959, and he had a 12-10 record with a 2.81 ERA in 1960. Mihara was 10th in ERA in the Central League, between Tetsuya Yoneda and Takayuki Hata. He allowed 3 runs in 1 1/3 innings as the starter of the 1960 Nippon Series Game 3, and he completed a shutout inning in Game 4. The Orions were swept by the Taiyo Whales. Mihira then went 14-12 with a 3.13 ERA in 1961, and he was 9th in losses (12 behind Toshiaki Tokuhisa). He only pitched 13 games with a 5.04 ERA in 1962, and the Orions sent him to the Whales. However, Mihira allowed 6 runs in 5 innings in 1963, and he was released. The Hankyu Braves picked him up, and his ERA was 3.09 in 17 games in 1964. Mihira went 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in 1965, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Mihira was 41-34 with a 3.05 ERA, struck out 404 and pitched 676 innings in 8 seasons in NPB.
