Biographical Information[edit]
Haruaki Harada was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 4th round of the 1972 NPB draft, and he hit .271/.346/.343 in 49 games in his first season. He went 7-for-28 in 1974, and he slumped to .204/.295/.278 in 1976. Harada also went 2-for-4 in the 1976 Nippon Series, but the Giants lost to the Hankyu Braves in 7 games. He struggled again in 1977 as his batting line was .171/.275/.171, then he played 62 games with a .235/.310/.412 batting line in 1978. Harada hit .245/.275/.265 in 56 games in 1979, and he announced his retirement after hitting .200/.256/.371 in 1980. Harada later became the batting coach for the Giants from 1981 to 1985.
