Biographical Information

Haizheng Wu debuted for the Chinese national team in the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. In his lone outing, he started against pool champion Colombia. He hit Michael Arroyo, who stole second, but Harold Ramírez lined into a double play. He also plunked Reynaldo Rodríguez then walked Gio Urshela but got Jair Camargo to end the inning. In the second, Dilson Herrera singled and he retired Brayan Buelvas and Jesús Marriaga but Francisco Acuña singled, Arroyo doubled and Ramírez singled to make it 3-0 before he struck out Rodríguez. Jian Yi took over the third. Wu took the loss to Rio Gomez.
