Biographical Information[edit]
Goro Suzuki signed with the Nishitetsu Lions in 1962, and he was 1-for-15 in his first season. He hit .347 to win the batting title of the Western League in 1964, and he 12-for-41 with the big club. Suzuki struggled in 1965 as his batting line was .194/.219/.258 in 64 plate appearances, and he played 65 games with a .209/.241/.331 batting line in 1966 (backing up Francis Agcaoili and Tony Roig at 1B). He hit .168/.210/.310 in 120 plate appearances over 77 games in 1967, and his batting line was .158/.172/.228 in 1968. Suzuki failed to return to the big club in 1969, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Suzuki hit .192/.219/.304 with 82 hits in 6 seasons in NPB.
