Biographical Information[edit]
Glenn Colby attended the University of Georgia, where he lettered in baseball in 1908.[1] He played minor league baseball in the South Atlantic League and Carolina Association from 1909 through 1914 as an outfielder and second baseman.[2] Contemporary newspaper accounts uniformly reported his first name as Glen.[3][4] He also managed the Greenville Spinners for the end of 1912, replacing Tom Stouch.
By September 14, 1913, Colby was the physical director of the YMCA in Albany, GA, where he was identified as a former Albany ballplayer.[5] He later worked for the YMCA in Marietta, OH, and in 1918 returned to coach baseball at the University of Georgia.[6][7]
