Biographical Information[edit]

George Clark had two strong seasons in the minor leagues in 1891 and 1893. With Olean, NY in the New York-Penn League in 1891 he scored 103 runs in 95 games, playing primarily in center field and at shortstop. In 1893 with Brockton, MA in the New England League he hit .316 and slugged .447, playing outfield, second base, and third base. Prior to those seasons, he featured for Boston's John P. Lovell Arms Co. team in 1890, one of the strongest semi-pro teams in the country, where he led the team in most offensive categories, and played second base and shortstop.
