Biographical Information

Fumio Kubo signed with the Taiyo Whales in 1980, and he only pitched one game in his first season. He allowed 12 runs in 5 games in 1982, and he had a 5.55 ERA in 23 relief outings in 1983. Kubo also tied the Central League as he appeared in 10 consecutive games. He improved to a 2.70 ERA in 28 appearances in 1984, and he went 2-2 with a 3.83 ERA in 36 games in 1985. His ERA rose to 5.68 in 22 appearances in 1986, and he didn't reach the big club in 1987 then he announced his retirement.
