Biographical Information[edit]
Fumiaki Imamura was drafted as an infielder by the Orix Blue Wave in the first round of the 1995 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for the rights to Kosuke Fukudome, but he spent his first five seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He was turned into a pitcher in 2001, and he pitched 12 games with a 3.80 ERA. Imamura went 2-3 with a 5.40 ERA in 2002, but he allowed 11 runs in 9 innings in 2003. Orix then released him, and his professional career ended.
