Felipe Mukai hit .394/.394/.636 with 8 runs and 12 RBI in 7 games for Brazil in the 2002 World Junior Championship, fielding .949 at catcher and throwing out 6 of 17 who tried to steal. He tied for 10th in hits (13) and tied Chin-Lung Hu and Chin-Ming Chen for 5th in RBI. He tied for most runners thrown out stealing. He was not named the event's All-Star backstop, which went to Michael Sadler instead. He won Bronze with Brazil in the 2011 South American Championship.
