Biographical Information

Eiichi Kasahara was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the first round of the 1984 NPB draft; the scout was Takahiro Tokutsu. He was 0-2 with a 7.11 ERA in 1986, and he pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings in 1987. Kasahara then went 0-4 with a 7.00 ERA in 1988, and he was placed in the minors primarily in the next six seasons; he only pitched 10 games combined with the big club. Lotte traded him to the Daiei Hawks in 1993 for cash, and he allowed 8 runs in 2 innings in 1995. He announced his retirement in 1996. Kasahara's sons Shoki Kasahara and Taiga Kasahara both pitched in NPB.
