Pitcher Edubray Ramos began his professional career in the St. Louis Cardinals system in 2010 at 17 years old.
He played for the VSL Cardinals in 2010, posting a 9.53 ERA in 10 appearances. In February 2011, St. Louis released him, thus he did not play in 2011 or 2012. In November 2012, the Philadelphia Phillies inked him to a contract and he posted a promising 9.6 K/9 IP ratio in 33 2/3 innings for the VSL Phillies in 2013, despite an elevated 5.08 ERA.
He came into his own as a full-time reliever in 2014, posting a 0.82 ERA with 10 saves, a 9.8 K/9 IP ratio, a 0.909 WHIP and 19 games finished in 26 appearances between the VSL Phillies, GCL Phillies and Williamsport Crosscutters. In 2015, he had a 2.07 ERA between the Clearwater Threshers and Reading Fightin Phils, then posted a 7.45 mark in eight games for the Arizona Fall League's Glendale Desert Dogs, while averaging more than a strikeout per inning. He was named an AFL Rising Star. Over the winter, he posted a 0.00 ERA in three appearances for the Tiburones de La Guaira. Between all his stops that season, he was 5-8 with a 2.63 ERA in 58 games; in 82 innings, he allowed 65 hits and 17 walks, while striking out 79.
Ramos began 2016 with Reading, but after posting a 2.40 mark in 11 games was promoted to the Triple A LeHigh Valley IronPigs. He was 1-0 with a 0.38 ERA and 0.76 WHIP in 15 games there before earning a promotion to the majors. On June 24, 2016, he made his first big league appearance, pitching one-third of an inning against the San Francisco Giants before being relieved by Hector Neris.
