Doug Wren was assistant coach at Weatherford College (2006-2007) and Tyler Junior College (2008-2009) before being promoted to head coach of Tyler. He took the school to the NJCAA Division III Baseball World Series eight times in fifteen years, then stepped down after the 2024 season to became athletic director.
