Biographical Information[edit]
Dong-yeop Kim was a manager in the early years of the Korea Baseball Organization. He coached Konkuk University from 1971 to 1973 and Hanyang University from 1978 to 1981. He had been recruited as the first manager of the Haitai Tigers in 1982 but withdrew before the season began. He took over the reigns of the MBC Blue Dragons in May 1983 and took them to the 1983 Korean Series but they were swept and he was out of a job at year's end. He returned to manage MBC from June 1985 until July 1987. He had previously coached for the South Korean national team in the 1976 Amateur World Series.
