Don Wedman

Biographical Information[edit]
Don Wedman played regularly for the Dutch national team.
In the Hoofdklasse, he played for (at least) the Amstel Tijgers. He was with the Netherlands when they finished second in the 1975 European Championship and 1977 European Championship. In the 1978 Amateur World Series, he hit .300/.364/.367 with 5 runs in 10 games, fielding .954 as their starting second baseman (he played all but five innings there, with Jos Kevers covering those 5). He was one run behind team co-leaders Paul Smit and Ben Richardson. He remained with the national team for the 1979 European Championship (again second), 1980 Amateur World Series and 1981 European Championship (finally winning a title).
