Biographical Information[edit]
Derrion Hardie has been a longtime college coach.
Hardie began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Lennox High School in 1998. He was head coach at Wabasso High School in 1999-2000. He returned to his alma mater as assistant coach in 2001.
Hardie got his first college head coaching job at Northwestern College in 2002-2003. He returned to the high school ranks as head coach at Mount Vernon High School in 2006-2012.
He took on a new challenge when he started the baseball program from scratch at Ecclesia College, where he was head coach from 2013-2018. He led the school to the 2017 National Christian College Athletic Association Baseball World Series where they went 1-3 in pool play.
Hardie was then hired as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Dakota State University in 2019 [1], before taking the head coaching job in 2020 [2]. The school finished 2nd in the 2022 North Star Athletic Association Tournament.
