Biographical Information[edit]
David Porcar pitched for CB Viladecans, including in the 1995 European Cup. [1] He was 1-1 with a 1.69 ERA for the Spanish national team in the 1995 European Championship and also was 1-for-3 with a double, run and three RBI. He led Spain in ERA, 1.91 ahead of #2 José Becerra. He pitched six shutout frames to beat Russia's Leonid Korneev but lost to Belgium's Frank Mathijs in one of the Bronze Medal Games as Belgium topped Spain. Porcar was 4th in the tourney in ERA, behind Michael DeGelmini, Frank Stattler and Yury Zhirov. [2] In the 1995 Intercontinental Cup, he went 0-2 with a 18.90 ERA, finishing 5th among their 8 hurlers in ERA. He lost to Brazil's Fábio Takara and Cuba's José Ibar. [3]
