Biographical Information[edit]

Utilityman Dave Landaker played in the Houston Astros system from 1993 to 1996, peaking at High-A. He was taken by the club as the first pick of the 2nd round of the 1992 amateur draft, ahead of pitcher Mike Matthews and also ahead of Todd Helton and Jason Giambi.

In his first season, he hit .500/.610/.656 with 16 hits - including 5 doubles - in 32 at-bats over 10 games for the GCL Astros. In 1994, back with the Gulf Coast League club, he hit .305/.381/.422 with 39 hits and 9 steals in 37 games. Moving to the High-A Kissimmee Cobras, he hit .206/.323/.244 in 96 games in 1995. He returned to that club in 1996, hitting .194/.298/.213 in 41 games. Overall, he hit .243/.329/.303 with 135 hits in 184 games. He didn't hit a single home run in 555 at-bats.
