Biographical Information

Daisuke Sakai was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 7th round of the 1998 NPB draft, and he had a 9.82 ERA in 6 games in 2000. He pitched 24 games with a 4.19 ERA in 2001, but his ERA rose to 10.80 in 25 relief outings in 2002. Sakai recorded a 5.87 ERA in 11 appearances in 2003, and he announced his retirement in 2004.
