Cincinnati Tigers

The Cincinnati Tigers were the first significant Negro League team from Cincinnati, OH. They were an independent club that improved from 1934 through 1936; in '36 they went 3-5 against other top black teams. Managed by Carl Glass, the top hitter was OF Neil Robinson (.420 in those 8 games). In 1937 they were charter members of the new Negro American League and went 19-10 under Double Duty Radcliffe, making them one of the NAL's top teams. Radcliffe hit .351, SS Howard Easterling .360 and Robinson .363. Jess Houston (7-2, 3.00 RA) and Eugene Bremer (6-0, 2.20 RA) were the best pitchers. The team folded after that.
