Biographical Information[edit]
Chuck Westgard played in the minors and for Team Canada.
He was also a star hockey player from British Columbia, turning down a junior hockey offer to focus on baseball. [1] He had a win and two saves for Canada in the 1982 Amateur World Series. [2] That impressed the New York Yankees, who signed him. He allowed 4 runs in 3 innings for the 1983 Oneonta Yankees, taking a loss. His career was then derailed by injuries. He later coached his daughters' teams to 7 national sports titles and made the Delta Sports Hall of Fame. [3] He later bought the Surrey Eagles in the British Columbia Hockey League. [4]
