Biographical Information

Chris Ballingall learned how to catch as a child from her twin brother who would pitch to her in their yard. She became so good that she was offered a contract to play in the AAGPBL as a 15-year-old in 1947 but her parents forbade her from accepting it because they believed she was too young. She eventually signed with the Muskegon Belles in 1953 when she was 21. She moved to the Kalamazoo Lassies midway through the '53 season and won a championship with them in 1954.
