Biographical Information[edit]

Chisen Sakaguchi was drafted by the Nankai Hawks in the 6th round of the 1984 NPB draft, and he only got one at-bat in 1986. He hit .188/.291/.229 in 46 games in 1987, but he only got 10 at-bats combined in the next two seasons. Sakaguchi went 3-for-19 in 1990, and he was traded to the Nippon Ham Fighters for Makoto Shimada. He had a .265/.324/.412 batting line in 1991, and he was 3-for-15 in 1992. Sakaguchi stayed in the minors in 1993, and he was released. The Yakult Swallows signed him, but he went 1-for-10 in 1994 and he announced his retirement.
