Biographical Information[edit]
Charles Roys played for Team USA and was a college coach.
He was head coach at the US Army base at Fort Lee in 1962-1963. He started at catcher for Team USA when they won Silver at the 1963 Pan American Games. He was head coach of Lyndon State College in 1963-1965 and Virginia Military Institute in 1968-1969. He moved to Springfield College as freshman coach and assistant varsity coach from 1970 to 1978. He became head coach from 1979-1996, posting a 323-295-5 record at Springfield including a team-record 28 wins in 1994. He took the team to the 1994 Division II College World Series. He was assistant coach at Amherst College from 1997-1999.
