Biographical Information[edit]

Carlos Quintana was signed as a free agent by the Boston Red Sox and scout Willie Paffen on November 26, 1984. Quintana finished his career in 1998 with Grosseto, hitting .390/.517/.779 with 17 homers, 55 runs and 55 RBI in 43 games, but was 3 for 19 with 3 walks, a double and a homer in the semifinals as Grosseto fell. He finished tied with David Sheldon for second in Serie A1 in home runs, one behind co-leaders Massimo Fochi and Paul Gonzalez. He hit .333 with two homers and 10 RBI in three Caribbean Series. In 2014, he was inducted to the Caribbean Baseball Hall of Fame with Jesús Alfaro and Álvaro Espinoza.
