Biographical Information[edit]

Bernardo Castillo was picked by the Chicago Cubs in the 17th round of the 1970 Amateur Draft, but he didn't sign and went to college. He represented the USA in the 1971 Pan American Games, winning a Silver Medal. [1] The second baseman started his career with the Montreal Expos system, and he hit .220/.348/.263 in 40 games for the West Palm Beach Expos. Castillo also recorded a .217/.313/.313 batting line in 26 games for the Kinston Expos, and that was his only season as a professional player.
