Biographical Information

Ben Godfrey' pitched for the British national team in the 2001 European Championship. Relieving Nick Carter in their 16-11 loss to Spain, he was their top hurler that day (3 1/3 IP,5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB); Matt Gilbert took over for him to close it out. His other outing, he replaced Alex Smith in the 6th with a 3-0 deficit against Belgium and allowed two hits and an unearned run while striking out one; Simon Flynn then took over. He finished 4th on their 8-man staff in ERA.
