Biographical Information[edit]

Arthur Bonevacia Sr. was on the Netherlands Antilles national team that won Silver in the 1986 Central American and Caribbean Games, the country's best finish in a Central American and Caribbean Games in baseball. He defeated Japan in the 1986 Amateur World Series (one of only two wins for the team in the event) and also was with the Antilles for the 1987 Pan American Games. He was 0-1 with a 9.39 ERA in the 1988 Baseball World Cup, dropping a decision to Italy's Massimo Fochi. He played in the 1995 Pan American Games. In domestic competition, he threw two no-hitters, once went 13-0 and once struck out 21 in a game. His son Arthur Bonevacia played in the minors and for the Antilles national team. Bonevacia Sr. later had some kind of role with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
