Biographical Information[edit]

Arata Shiino played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.

Shiino was 11-21 with a 1.85 in his college career, and he was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 4th round of the 2017 NPB draft; the scout was Hisao Arakane. He only pitched one game for the big club in 2018, and he went 5-2 with 6 holds and a 3.13 ERA in 36 appearances in 2019. Shiino's ERA rose to 5.73 in 12 games in 2020, and he completed a shutout inning in the 2020 Nippon Series. He then notched 9 saves with a 3.11 ERA in 45 appearances in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he led the Western League in saves; he didn't reach the big club that season. Shiino pitched 18 games with a 4.01 ERA in 2022, then he had a 3.86 ERA in 11 appearances in 2023 and he retired.

Overall, Shiino was 6-4 with 8 holds and a 3.87 ERA, struck out 101 and pitched 100 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
