Biographical Information

Alexander Armenta pitched for the Mexican national team and in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Armenta pitched 2 games for the Tigres de Quintana Roo in 2021 when he was 17 years old, and the Softbank Hawks signed him with a development contract. He had a 5.73 ERA in 18 games against amateur teams or independent teams in 2022, and he allowed 5 runs in 4 innings in 2023 in the NPB Farm Leagues. Armenta pitched 2 games with a 1.13 ERA in the minors in 2024, and he improved to 3-3 with a 3.47 ERA there in 2025. He then made it onto Mexico's roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic. He relieved Roel Ramírez in the 6th inning against Brazil, and he struck out Osvaldo Carvalho Jr. but gave up a single to Felipe Koragi. Armenta fanned Gabriel Gomes but gave up another single to Vítor Ito, then he collected his 3rd strikeout of the inning against Lucas Rojo to end his work. He made his NPB debut on May 27 against the Yomiuri Giants, and he got his first strikeout against Bobby Dalbec.
