The Alerts of Schenectady competed as a member of the National Association of Base Ball Players as early as 1869 through the league's final year in 1870. On August 8, 1869, the club was defeated by the Schenectady Ancient Citys by a score of 74-16 and also lost to the Washington Olympics on September 8 by a score of 9-26.
