Biographical Information

Akira Tanaka was drafted by the Orix Buffaloes in the 5th round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he was 1-for-10 in 2005. He only got 5 at-bats in 2006, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in the next two seasons. The Buffaloes then traded him to the Hiroshima Carp for Koji Yamasaki, but he only played one games for the big club before he announced his retirement in 2010.
