Biographical Information

Akinori Kobayashi went 25-13 with a 1.81 ERA in his college career, and he started in the final of the 1987 Meiji Jingu Baseball Convention to lead the University of Tsukuba to the title. It was the first time that a public university won a national title in Japan. Kobayashi was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the 2nd round of the 1989 NPB draft, and he had a 5.57 ERA in 11 games in 1990. He pitched 11 games with a 5.06 ERA in 1991, and he only got 5 more appearances before he announced his retirement in 1996. He then coached Teikyo Daigo High School from 2016 to 2022, and he became the coach of Fujii High School in 2023.
