Biographical Information

Álvaro Sakuda has been on the Peruvian national team.

In the 2025 Bolivarian Games, the 17-year-old backed up Susumu Yoza at catcher. He was 0 for 3 with a walk (drawing the walk from Ecuador's Keiver Cordero). He handled 8 putouts and one assist, allowing one steal. Peru won the Silver Medal, their best finish ever in the event; they had one prior medal in baseball, a Bronze back in 1947.
