The Newport News Apprentice School also known as The Apprentice School is a apprentice vocational/trade school located in Newport News, VA. The sports teams are known as the Builders. As of 2023 the school started to award 26 assocaite degrees in maritime programs. Because the school has not traditionally granted degrees, they do not compete in the NCAA or NAIA. The Builders compete in the USCAA where they've won the 2007, 2015, and 2022 National Championship. Wayne Kirby went here.
