Maryland native Frank Bennett spent three years in professional baseball from 1927 to 1929. Frank made his Major League debut with the Boston Red Sox on September 27, 1927 and pitched in his final game with the Fenway Park club on April 11, 1928. During this short time in the big leagues he appeared in five games, pitching 13 1/3 innings, giving up 16 base-hits and four earned-runs for a 2.70 ERA with an 0-1 record.

Bennett spent the remainder of the 1928 season with the Pittsfield Hillies of the class A Eastern League. He ended the season with a 4-5 record and a 6.19 ERA, while appearing in eighteen games. Frank finished his pro baseball career in 1929 at the age of 24 with the New Bedford Millmen of the class B New England League. He appeared in 27 games and built a 11-9 record with a 3.93 ERA. This finished up his time in the minor leagues with a 15-14 record while pitching 228 innings in 45 games for a 4.70 ERA.

After baseball Frank became a pipe fitter for the Pure-Oil Corporation in Marcus Hook PA. From 1948 to 1958 he worked as a piping superintendent on construction projects for duPont Company and later was associated with Pipe Fitter's Union Local #80. He died from a heart attack on March 18, 1966 at General Hospital in Wilmington, DE and was Interred at Graceland Memorial Park in New Castle, DE. Bennett was 61 years of age.













George Blackerby

Born 10 Oct 1903 in Luther OK Died 30 May 1987 in Wichita Falls TX Interred Crestview Memorial Park, Wichita Falls TX. Location - Garden of Devotion, Block G, Lot 36, Grave 3. GPS Coordinates - N 33° 50.472' - W 98° 30.513' Debut Date 10 Aug 1928. Outfielder 1 Year.

He was a retired oil operator. Died from cardio-pulmonary arrest.

Owen Scheetz

Born 24 Dec 1913 in New Bedford OH Died 28 Sep 1994 at Pine Kirk Nursing Home in Kirkersville OH Interred Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg OH. Debut Date 22 Apr 1943. Pitcher 1 Year.

After his minor league managing years were finished he left baseball and worked for the Columbus Bolt Works. He retired from the Reynoldsburg, OH Water Department. Owen died from a heart attack at the Pine Kirk Nursing Home in Kirkersville, OH on September,28, 1994 at 80 years of age.
