Biographical Information[edit]

Mu-Young Kim played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Kim played for the Fukuoka Red Warblers in 2008, and he was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 6th round of the 2008 NPB draft. He only pitched one game for the big club in 2009, and he had a 2.35 ERA in 9 games in 2011. Kim then went 5-1 with a 2.18 ERA for the Criollos de Caguas in the winter. He had a solid 1.72 ERA in 29 games in 2012, and his ERA was 3.48 in 23 appearances in 2013. Kim pitched 25 games with a 3.41 ERA in 2014, but he missed the entire 2015 season due to elbow injury. The Hawks then released him, and he signed with the Rakuten Golden Eagles. Kim inly pitched 2 innings for the big club in 2016, and he announced his retirement. He was an assistant coach for International Pacific University in 2022.
