Biographical Information[edit]

José López hit three sacrifice flies on April 15, 2008. He became the 12th player in MLB history to accomplish that in a game. He was the starting second baseman for the Venezuelan national team in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, demonstrating an amazing propensity to hit doubles.

Lopez signed a contract with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan's Central League for the 2013 season.
