Biographical Information[edit]

Johan Höglund has been with the Swedish national team.

Höglund hit .191/.441/.250 and fielded .982 at 2B at age 17 for Gefle in 2010. In 2011, he hit .340/.433/.423 and fielded .889 at short; he also participated in the MLB European Academy. He was with Sweden for the 2012 European Championship. After a couple games subbing for Adam Sorgi at 2B, he started at 3B in their final three games. He went 3 for 10 with two walks, a run and a time caught stealing; he had one error in 13 total chances. Two of his three hits came off former minor leaguers, Diegomar Markwell (Netherlands) and Sammy De Los Santos (Spain). The third hit was off Germany's Christian Decher.
